To fill in the application form, please note:
- Some fields are obligatory. If you have not filled them in, you will be notified of the omission.
- Be careful to select "ESO" if you were ESO staff or beneficiary.
- To protect against typing mistakes, you must give your e-mail twice, identically.
- For our data base, telephone and GSM (mobile) numbers must be in the international format. That format starts with a "+" and the country code, then the in-country number. Do not put any zeroes before area codes and use only digits, spaces and the starting "+" sign. Examples of good phone numbers are: +41 22 123 45 67 (a number in Geneva) and +33 4 56 78 90 12 (a number in neighbouring France) and +44 20 1234 5678 (a number in London). Examples of bad phone numbers are: 0041 (0)22 123 45 67 (does not start with the international "+" sign and gives the zero before the area code) or 011 33 4 56 78 90 12 (would work only if dialled from North America). Non-international format numbers cannot be dialled from anywhere in the world though they might work if used from some countries.
- The verification code is there to avoid that automated spammers use the form. Entering that code is a human activity that is difficult to automate. The number has no significance and is generated ramdomly for each form access.
